This one is a must watch. TC explains why he is riding in his 5th DGR.
Dan Slapp, master fabricator and the man behind Slapp Industries explains why he is doing DGR.
The first of our DGR shorts detailing why we are taking part. Tom owns Boyds of Bedford with his wife Jess, and whilst he hasn't had a history of mental health issues, the events of the past 14 months have taken there toll on him.
Tom is currently being treated for depression and believes we should'nt feel any shame in seeking help when our mental health is suffering, in the same way we do if we are physically hurt.
On Sunday the 23rd of May, a small group of 8 of us (5 riders and 3 pillions) will be setting off to ride in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember.
Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before we press our tweed and polish our boots, we are asking you to join us in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
DGR is a very personal cause for our team, with many of us having suffered or indeed still suffering from mental health issues. Brigade member TC has put together some short films detailing why we are riding. Please do check them out...
