The reality of riding vintage: Poor reliability. The Norton is broken again. Still looks pretty, though! Thanks again to Indian Motorcycles for lending me a 2018 Scout Bobber for the DGR tomorrow!
Just introduced in July, this is the newest Indian model. Thanks to the Indian Motorcycle team for hooking me up with this outstanding motorcycle at the last minute!
Well, I won't be riding my '74 Commando tomorrow as it's transmission has decided to sh!t itself. A ball bearing on the intermediate shaft has failed. A common Norton problem. And I don't have enough time to get the bearing replaced with an upgraded roller bearing. So, I have borrowed a 2018 Indian Scout Bobber from work. I believe this still meets the "Style Guide" for this event.
Thanks so much for everyone who has generously sponsored me for this good cause. Your contributions are highly appreciated!
On Sunday the 24th of September, I will don my finest attire with my fellow men and women across the globe to join the fight with The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to raise awareness for prostate cancer and men’s mental health. But before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I need you to donate what you can for this meaningful cause and help me reach my goal.
For your uncles, your brothers, your fathers and friends. Donate what you can, for their lives need not end.
Thank you for all the donations thus far!
Happy to support this!
Good luck on the ride!
Great cause! Have fun!
Always the gentleman, Gary. Have a good time riding for a good cause.
Have a good ride!
Also happy to donate a spare tow rope, if you will be riding your Norton! :-)
