The idea always appealed to me. The idea of giving our health and well being (mental and physical) some importance we deserve. We men have insecurities, we have issues and we even have days when we have a hormonal rush. It's just that they are not confined to certain days of the month.
Are we allowed to talk about our issues in public, of course we are. But do we actually do it, of course we dont. This is where it actually proves that we are more insecure than our counterpart gender. There is this immense pressure from society that men should suck it up and walk with their head held high. But sometimes, they might be walking straight into their loner zone and eventually into an everlasting sleep.
Screw the expectations and screw the prejudice. Nobody in this world has to live a life like that - men or women. We all should have the mental freedom to open up to our friends, family or even strangers for that matter and release that tension, whatever it is. Mental well being is always the key to a wonderful life and is a basic human right.
Therefore, while those who are qualified for the job continues with prostate and testicular cancer research with the funds we raise, lets not stop there. Pick up your phone and call a friend or an old colleague you think is wearing that mask. Help them know you are there for them and that its ok to cry. Or if you are that person with the mask, you know what to do now. Cant find anyone? Im here for you.
