About 8 years ago, I lost my father to Prostate Cancer. He was a dear man beloved by anyone who knew him. And, as with all wonderful fathers, he is greatly missed. Hopefully, through programs such as The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, and the Movember Foundation, we can help prevent the heartbreak people such as myself have felt as a result of this disease.
I was also glad to see the ride also covers Men's Mental Health issues and suicide prevention. In the past year, I lost two friends to suicide. Sadly, according to the CDC, suicide is one of the top 10 causes of death in The United States, and it is the 7th leading cause of death for males.
It is likely that we will all be touched by one if not both of these situations. Please support efforts to prevent and curtail such unfortunate deaths.
On Sunday the 24th of September, I will don my finest attire with my fellow men and women across the globe to join the fight with The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to raise awareness for prostate cancer and men’s mental health. But before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I need you to donate what you can for this meaningful cause and help me reach my goal.
For your uncles, your brothers, your fathers and friends. Donate what you can, for their lives need not end.
Thank you for all the donations thus far!
For Pete. The love of my life.
Have a good ride
I'm so sorry about your father, but glad that you are remembering him in a very meaningful way. Thank you for your efforts!
Sounds like a fun event. Have fun buddy.
In memory of Pete! Enjoy the ride Pat.
Good luck Pat - I hope you reach your goal! Certainly enjoy your ride!
My dad was just diagnosed with prostate cancer in July and had surgery last week. We are still awaiting a decision on whether or not he will need radiation. This hits home. Thank you for donating your time and effort to such a worthy cause!
From all the doughnut people.
Go Patrick !
Way to go Pat!
Thank you for your efforts for this cause, Patrick. I'm a friend of your sister, Cathy.
