To all you lovely people who sponsored me, thank you (again) for your generosity. I personally smashed the (in hindsight modest) target that I set myself. Better yet the Oxford Gentleman's Ride raised over £23,000 and was the largest in the country outside of London, with over 400 bikes taking part.
Worldwide almost 92,000 riders took to their bikes this Sunday and raised over $4.3 million for the Movember foundation to be used for research into prostate cancer and men's suicide prevention. It is awe inspiring enough to be amongst 400-odd motorbikes on familiar roads doing their bit for charity, but to know that tens of thousands of bikers in hundreds of other cities around the world are doing the same is incredible and shows again that, to quote Jo Cox, we have far more in common than that which divides us.
On Sunday the 24th of September, I will don my finest attire with my fellow men and women across the globe to join the fight with The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to raise awareness for prostate cancer and men’s mental health. But before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I need you to donate what you can for this meaningful cause and help me reach my goal.
For your uncles, your brothers, your fathers and friends. Donate what you can, for their lives need not end.
Thank you for all the donations thus far!
Take care Ben, love Mum.
