The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on Sunday

Tuesday 29th

On Sunday Sep 27th, we participated in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride Vancouver. In a small group, we "ran" into a couple other groups we were also joined by a couple solo riders.

Although the ride concluded yesterday, the FUNDRAISER is still ON.

And WOW, what a team performance, thank you to all contributors. We surpassed our fundraising goal!

We are truly taken by surprise and humbled by the generosity we recieved. Thank you again.

Beyond just the numbers of our fundraising goal, the true goal is to eliminate prostate cancer and to make it possible for anyone (including men) to not only speak out about their respective mental illnesses but also erase the stigma surrounding mental health.

The this year DGR fundraiser is still on, let's pull all together in the final days of the fundraiser sprint.

One more Day before we Ride, but the fundraiser goes on!

Sunday 27th

3 out of 4 suicides are men

510,000 men die from suicide globally each year. That’s one every minute. This has to change.

The causes of suicide are complex. There’s no single reason why men take their own lives, but we do know that by improving overall mental health we can reduce the risk of suicide. We need to address untreated mental health conditions among men.

Please support the cause-save a life!

4 Days to go!!! Thank you to our contributors!

Wednesday 23rd

A big thank you to our contributors. Our team is currently ranked 19th globally!

This contribution and awareness of the cause will help save a life.

Due to the unpresidented circumstances this year, our team has to cap the number of participating riders at 10. As of yesterday, 10 riders have joined our team.

If you are further interested in suporting our effort, fundraising to fight Prostate Cancer and raising Mental Health Awareness -please spread the message from our blog and contribute into our team or to one of our riders.

Early detection can reduce the death rate of prostate cancer by as much as 30%!!!

Monday 21st

As per World Cancer Research Fund: Prostate Cancer is the 2nd leading cancer death in men. In 2017, on average 58 Canadian men were diagnosed with prostate cancer every day, while 11 men died from prostate cancer every day (source: Canadian Cancer Society).

This statistic is probably similar in many countries around the world (In 2017 about 300,000 men died from prostate cancer worldwide).  However early detection  and treatment can reduce that number greatly.

The Movember Foundation is a leading charity addressing this cause.

That's why we have chosen to participate in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride and to fundraise for the Movember Foundation.

Please donate on our page to support the fundraising effort for this cause. Every $10+ counts (and a receipt from the charity will be send for personal or corporate tax deduction purposes).

Our Team Moto Cafe

Sunday 20th

On behalf of each team member, I would like to express our gratitude to everybody who contributed to this fundraising effort.

I invite you to share the information (from the next blog post) about the reality of Prostate Cancer, that Prostate Cancer is the second leading rate of death in men. Further, and most importantly, early detection and treatment can reduce that rate greatly!!!

That's why we have chosen to participate in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride and to fundraise for the Movember Foundation.

Join our Team!

Friday 18th

If you are interested in riding in a small group, fundraise personally but enjoy the group's recognition-then please be welcomed in our team.

As we prepare to ride on Saturday, September 26th, we will grow (or attempt to grow :) a moustache, proudly in the tradition of Movember. We will also ready our tweed and polish our steed.

We have a route planned throughout our city, we have an apres-ride venue for lunch reserved, and we were able to secure some prizes.

(This year will be sligthly different as we have to follow local health guidelines. Physical distancing and keeping a small group will be part of it.)

This year, prizes will be given to the highest fundraiser of our group, the rider with the oldest bike, the rider with the most authentic suit, and of course, the rider sporting the best moustache.

Join our team as we ride as a small group for The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride!

Saturday 12th

On Saturday 26th of September, we are teaming up to ride as a small group in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember.

Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before we press our tweed and polish our boots, we are asking you to join us in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
