Cosmetic bike changes

Friday 25th Apr 2025

Cosmetic bike changes almost complete.

- The tank rack has been removed for cleaner lines.

- The rear box mount has been removed and replaced with a stock rear handle. 

- The stock mirrors have been changed to bar end mirrors for that café racer look.

- Still need to consider it I put a tidy tail on and make the back look super clean. Hmmm. 

New bike collected. 12th April 25

Saturday 19th Apr 2025

New bike collected. Managed to ride the bike home 8 miles and only stalled it once. I was bricking it as riding a manual bike is a lot harder than a manual car. Thank god for 17 year old me's training and even more so Youtube videos! 

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Tuesday 8th Apr 2025

On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride for the first time, with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. 

My bike story……After a 28 year absence from motorised two wheels, in May 2024 I bought a Vespa to start riding to work. I loved it and progressed after a few months to a quicker Honda. Fast forward to now, I’m one year & 2000 miles back in the saddle and I want more. I’m now firmly on the path to a full bike license and I’ve recently passed my bike theory test. 

As part of this new life goal triggered by another midlife crisis and a health scare, I wanted to challenge myself along the way… So a few weeks ago (April this year) to see if I could still ride as I did when I was 17, I bought a proper motorbike (with dreaded manual gears) and set myself just five weeks to relearn the gears to sufficient level to ride alongside seasoned motorcycle gentlefolk on the charity ride.  

So with basically a month’s manual time under my belt, I will dress to the nines and press my tweed and polish my boots like a gentleman. I'm asking you to kindly join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives. Sponsoring me to look like a fool in both clothing and my attempts to not stall the bike. Both are worth it as Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that.
