The Ride That Changed How I See Brotherhood, Health, and Purpose
Sunday 4th May 2025It was 2019 when I first heard about the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride — a global motorcycle event where riders don their finest suits, fire up their classic and vintage bikes, and hit the road for a cause. At the time, I thought it would be just another ride — fun, unique, and stylish.
I was wrong.
That first ride changed something in me. The energy was electric, but it wasn’t just about the motorcycles or the outfits. It was about the stories. The quiet conversations at tea stops. The nods of solidarity between strangers. The understanding that beneath the helmets and handlebars, many of us were riding for something deeply personal.
For fathers lost too soon.
For friends who stopped picking up the phone.
For health checkups delayed for “another time.”
For the battles we never speak of — but feel, carry, and sometimes hide.
Year after year since then, I’ve kept riding. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride has become a tradition, yes — but more than that, it’s a moment to reflect, honor, and contribute to something that truly matters: men’s mental health and prostate cancer awareness.
It’s not easy being vulnerable. Especially for men. Society often tells us to be strong, to stay silent, to "tough it out." But every ride reminds me how powerful it is when we open up — even a little. When we say, “I’ve been there too.” When we stand up, suited and united, for the ones still fighting and the ones we’ve lost.
I’ve been incredibly grateful for the support from friends, family, and colleagues over the years. Your encouragement — even just a kind word or a share — has meant more than you know.
This year, I ride again. And I carry all of you with me — your stories, your strength, and your silent support. Thank you for walking (or riding) alongside me on this journey.
Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep starting conversations. Let’s keep making this ride count.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Tuesday 29th Apr 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
