Choice #2, Ducati Multistrada 950s

The DGR is a spectacle of style and classic bikes.  The Ducati is not a classic, but it's stylish and makes an impression.  It is violently fast and generates a lot of heat at any speed.  At parade pace, it doesn't breathe particularly well and runs the risk of overheating.  Unless the DGR is on a particularly crisp Sunday morning, the Multistrada will probably stay home.    

Choice #1, Yamaha XMAX 300

The DGR route is a stop-and-go crawl through the surface streets of Grand Rapids.  It starts at Millenium Park in Grandville, winds its way through the south and west sides, and takes a breather at Riverside Park.  In 2024, we concluded the ride at Archival Brewing on West River Drive.  On a 70+ degree day, the slow parade is not a great recipe for air-cooled or high performance bikes.   The Yamaha, while absolutely not a classic yet entirely dorky, is designed for this type of ride.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Tuesday 6th May 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
