On Sunday the 23rd of May, we are teaming up to ride in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember.
Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before we press our tweed and polish our boots, we are asking you to join us in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
My brother-in-law Arron and I will be riding my late father's 1961 Norton Jubilee and 1971 Ural 650 in tribute to him. My father, Derek, sadly passed away from a short battle with cancer late in 2020. His Norton took to the roads for the 2019 MK DGR event. The Ural's restoration and recommission was completed just before my father passed away and this will be it's first proper outing, and what a fitting event and cause to do so.
Because of COVID we will be doing a socially distanced local Chiltern Hills route around some of my father's favourite motorcycling countryside roads. Inevietably a pit stop for coffee and cake will take place, as well as a few unexpected stops (expected?) for a few minor break downs along the way!
What a Wonderful tribute Scott and Arron. Your Dad will be riding along beside you in spirit immensely proud of you both.
Great cause, enjoy the ride
Hope you have a great time, and raise lots of money for this worthwhile cause, and stay a bit drier than last time!
