Why I take part in the Gentlemen’s Ride

As some of you reading this may know, I have been living with Prostate Cancer for just over 13 years.

I am one of the lucky ones whose prognosis is good.

1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. If you’re over 50, or you’re black, or your dad or brother had it, you’re at even higher risk.

Prostate cancer is not always life-threatening. But when it is, the earlier you catch it the more likely it is to be cured.

I thought it was about time I did something to give a little back if possible, for the care and support I have received over the years, not only to Prostate Cancer Charities, but also those involved in Mental Health Wellbeing.

I'm not really up to running marathons or marching, but I can ride a motorcycle and apparently I scrub up pretty well too 😉 so..........

On Sunday the 18th of May 2025,

I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember.

Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons.

The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that.
