Different bike, same fun.
Tuesday 13th May 2025Less than one week until the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride. Official decision is that the Suzuki will have to miss this year's event. Still waiting for parts to arrive and even if they did having time to fit then and fully test before Sunday is impractical. So the Yamaha will be making its first appearance at DGR, will be more comfortable but not as cool. I'm very close to hitting my target of $250 in the fundraising. Thanks to all who've donated, just need that final push to get me over the line.
Less than two months to go, its going to be tight.
Tuesday 25th Mar 2025Once again I'm taking part in the DGR in Oslo.
And again I'll be using my 1985 GSX750ES Cafe racer.
Or I will be if the stars align and all things go to plan. The bike is currently in my garage with the back end suspended from the rafters. The 40 year old back shock absorber absorber gave up at the end of last season so a new(!) one has been procured but its currently sitting at my Dads in Inverness to be collected at Easter.
Also I found that the swingarm had some alarming holes in it which had been disguised by the previous owner, they've been there for the last 8 years but thought it would be prudent to replace that as well. When I get back from Scotland I'll have 3 weeks to rebuild the bike ready for the DGR.
Fingers crossed I'll be out there on the Suzuki, if not the 1982 Yamaha XJ750 will make its first DGR appearance. (Even though I haven't started it since October and it doesnt have a front wheel on it just now).
As alaways I'm asking for spnsorship and donations, 100% of funds will go direct to the Movember foundation, raising funds for mens mental health, so dig deep people.
Updates will follow at the end of April.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Monday 24th Mar 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives. My Sponsors
