It is all of you that keep me motivated every year to keep going and push for greater success!!

If you've supported me in the DGR before, you likely know the tale, if you're new & emotionally available to do so please feel free to read on...                  ⚠️ trigger warning the reasons I started... suck.

I started riding in 2016, I had always wanted to & finally found the passion to do for me. I hadn't loved riding in large groups, but I do love the open road!

In the winter of 2018, my dear friend Russell took his life and it hit those of us here terribly, shattering the friendship group. As adults, we just naively didn't see it coming. We thought we passed that age of concern. I carry Russell with me every day, especially every ride - he was a big supporter of my "fierce independence". The DGR 2019 was my first, and for him. I swallowed my fear of large rides & found so much healing within the space. 

In 2020, my friend Dom then took his life, I'd known him since my 20s. Although he wasn't regularly present in my life in our mid 30s, we still checked in often... so much so, I was the one who found him. I will never be able to articulate how that changed me... the movie like surrealism of that day and the aftermath. 

I almost quit the ride, but again, it was you all the pushed me. Many of you shared your stories. It was a solo ride year that year, but I wasn't alone. The tears, the catharsis, the overwhelming gratitude I experienced. I'm thanking you all still. 

Now ever year since, I ride for them, I ride for those you shared with me, I ride for you... our fathers, brothers, sons, friends, neighbours, you name it!

Let's continue to show up for the men that matter, that need us! 🌎💞

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Tuesday 26th Mar 2024 On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
