WE REACHED OUR GOAL!

Monday 29th Apr 2024

As I write this on the 28th of April, we're 21 days away from The Distinguished Gentleman's ride.

Over this weekend we've had continued support in the form of donations and as a result we've SMASHED THE £2000 GOAL!!!

I'd like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who's supported and sponsered me.

With your support we've raised an incredible amount and every penny will go directly to help men's mental health.

In the coming weeks I'll be prepping myself and my bike. I'm still yet to decide on an outfit but I know I'll be looking dapper with my fellow biker brothers and sisters, all 50,000+ of them taking part in the ride worldwide.

Thanks again for everyone's support. You're all incredible and I can't wait to get my outfit on, get on the bike and get out on the road!

THANK YOU!

Saturday 20th Apr 2024

I woke up to a rather big surprise on Thursday morning (April 18th) when I found that overnight, more than £1500 was donated to sponsor me for The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride.

I'd just like to say a heartfelt thank you to those who have supported me, not just now but in the past too. It's especially touching to have Eli's family and friends support me in this coming ride.

I'd like to use this moment to say, although many people who have donated won't be there to watch me participate in the Poole-Bournemouth ride, I'd like to remind you that The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is a global event.

Please do consider checking out the 'Rides' tab at the top and see whether there are any local rides happening near you! There are literally hundreds of rides taking place, and if you're able to support those riders as they make their journey in the name of men's mental health, they'll greatly appreciate it.

As I hadn't quite expected to reach my target of £500 so soon, I've extended the goal to £2000.

Thanks again to all of you who have supported me on this mental health journey.

Why I'm riding - My late friend Eli de Soto

Tuesday 16th Apr 2024

As if you even need a reason to ride for such a great cause, I'd like to briefly go into why I'm doing The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride this year.

I work in the field of military history as a content creator, and I've been lucky enough to collaborate with and support other content creators who explore what myself and many consider an important topic.

Just before Christmas last year, a friend and fellow content creator of mine took his own life.
His name was Eli de Soto, and he had a huge following online. His particular niche was remote-controlled tanks. By extension, he inspired many to not only get their own model tanks but also to explore military history in a very unique way. He loved military history and travelled to different countries exploring places of historical significance. He had a real passion for this subject.
His TikTok account is attached for anyone interested in seeing his work:

He was only 23 years of age, but he accomplished an incredible amount in such a short time as a content creator. It's also a reminder that mental health can affect people in different ways, regardless of age.
Eli lived in Washington in the United States, and it was an absolute privilege to be able to watch his service with his friends and family.

Men's mental health needs to be a topic of conversation now more than ever, and with that in mind, I'll be thinking of my friend Eli as I ride from Poole Quay, past Bournemouth Pier, all the way to Triumph in Christchurch.

Let me leave you with some important words:

Check on your friends.
Check on your quiet friends.
Check on your creative friends.
And check on your happy friends.

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this.

It's that time again.

Tuesday 26th Mar 2024

It's coming to that time again, the time to come together and make some noise to raise awareness for Men's Mental Health and Prostate cancer.

Last year with the help of my amazing supporters we raised a whopping £593. More than double the original goal and even now a year later it still means so much to me that we were able to come together and raise money for such an amazing cause.

This is just the first of many posts in which I'll be talking more about why I'm taking part in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, and if you ride yourself, but haven't done it before, I'd highly recommend that you get involved for this incredible cause.
