My Blog
The Ride for me, is over.
Thursday 15th May 2025As many of you will now know, on May 6th at around 8:45 AM, I was unfortunately involved in a motorcycle accident on my way to work.
I have no memory of the day itself, but I have a rough idea of what happened. While waiting to turn right at a junction on Sugar Hill, I was rear-ended at around 35 mph by a BMW. The resulting injury was a broken right leg in two places — fibula and tibia — and a pretty nasty concussion.
I don't know what happened to the bike, but long story short, I won't be able to take part in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on May 18th, which is incredibly disappointing.
Whilst I won't be taking part in the ride, I'm still trying to raise funds for what is an incredibly important cause — men's mental health and prostate cancer awareness and treatment.
Recent events have helped me realise how lucky I am in the grand scheme of things. I'm lucky I didn't come out worse from this accident, but most importantly, I have incredible people in my life who support me.
But not everyone does.
The idea of having to deal with my recovery by myself is not only daunting, but depressing.
I'm someone who's generally very independent — now I rely heavily on my partner to do day-to-day things.
But the sad fact is, there are people out there who do unfortunately have to face these challenges alone, without friends, family, or colleagues to support them.
My recent accident is an important reminder to me of those I have in my life to support me — but also of the fact that there are many out there who need our help, which makes the cause all that more important.
So I ask, if you have anything to spare, please consider donating to my fundraiser (or to any other friend you know who's taking part in the ride this week).
I can't wait to heal up, get back on my feet — but most importantly, I can't wait to get back on two wheels...
And next year, when the DGR comes around again, I'll be ready to do my part.
Thank you so much to those who have already supported me this year. It genuinely means so much.
Edit: Due to the circumstances, I've changed the fundraiser goal from £1000 to £500.
Thank you to everyone who's helped me reach my goal!

It's that time again
Tuesday 25th Mar 2025On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'll for the third year in a row be taking part in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in support of men's mental health awareness and prostate cancer awareness.
Taking part in the DGR has been by far one of the most worthwhile fundraisers I've had the privilege of taking part of.
We likely all know at least someone who has suffered or is suffering with their demons, which demonstrates just how common this problem is. So this year I'm aiming to raise £1000 which will go towards funding prostate cancer and men's mental health initiatives around the world through the official charity partner, Movember.
So, if you're a fellow biker, it's time to sign up (if you haven't already), get some dapper threads, clean the bike and prepare for another ride for an incredible cause.
